Ruth Hess Obituary

Ruth A. Hess, 65, of Silver Springs Courtyard, Ashburg Drive, Mechanicsburg, died Saturday, April 9, 2005, in the Harrisburg Hospital.

Born on Aug. 18, 1939, in Cumberland County, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Pauline Kuykendall Killinger.

She was a member of Bethel Assembly Church, Carlisle, and was affectionately known to her good friends and those who loved her as Aunt Ruth.

She is survived by her former husband and caretaker, Cletus J. Hess, Boiling Springs; a son, Cletus C. Hess, Tuscalusa, Ala.; a stepson, Kenneth Hess, Newville; a stepdaughter, Nancy Kuykendall, Elkhart, Ind.; two brothers, Fred Killinger, Carlisle, and Bruce Killinger, Bloserville; two sisters, Linda Bernheisel, Carlisle, and Bonnie Brents, Winterhaven, Fla.; a grandchild; five step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; 15 nieces; and 18 nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly P. Hess; a stepmother, Grace Killinger; and three brothers, Foster, Ray and Wayne Killinger.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Richard L. Reese officiating. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
