Salem Essis Obituary

In loving memory of Salem M. Essis, 67, of Harrisburg, who passed away on Monday, April 23, 2007, at his home.

He was born in Blue Field, W.Va., on April 29, 1939.

He was the co-owner of Essis and Sons Carpet, and a member of Christ the Savior Eastern Orthodox Church in Harrisburg.

He is survived by his wife, Fedwa H. Essis; his children, Michael S. Essis of Chambersburg, Deborah Essis Curcillo of Harrisburg, Donna Essis of Lancaster, Robert S. Essis of Mechanicsburg, David S. Essis of Harrisburg, Tina Essis Lountzis of Lancaster, Tami F. Essis of California and Nicholas S. Essis of Harrisburg; three brothers, Fred M. Essis of Mechanicsburg, Mussellem M. Essis of Harrisburg and Frank M. Essis of Lancaster; his sister, Nellie O. Issis of Alabama; and 15 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Sandy S. Essis.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at his church. The Rev. Daniel D. Ressetar will officiate. There will be a viewing from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Hetrick Funeral Home, 3125 Walnut St., Harrisburg, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Shoop's Cemetery.
