Wayne Lush Obituary

Wayne Douglas Lush, 55, of Boiling Springs died Friday, May 26, 2006, at the East Coast Gold Cup Horseshoe Club near Landisburg.

Born Sept. 11, 1950, in Plainfield, N.J., he was the son of the late William G. Lush and Ina Fosbre Lush, who survives.

Surviving him are his loving wife, Barbara A. Kuhn Lush; three daughters, Jenni, Dawn and Jessica; a son, Ryan; a grandson, Alex; a granddaughter, Carly; and his loyal canine companion, Hanna. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters-in-law, Tim and Janet, Roger and Sonja, George and Lynne; Patti, who was the wife of his late brother William H. Lush; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Wendy and Tommy, Annie and Red, Barbara and Kevin.

Wayne graduated from Camp Hill High School, class of 1969; was a sailor in the U.S. Navy and continued his education at Stevens Trade School. He pursued a career in custom woodworking and worked extensively with Tim Lush at Liberty Millwork and on various restoration projects for Don "Spankey" Leggett. He also constucted all of the Gingerbread Man Restaurants and other famous watering holes.

"Mr. Nature" influenced many lives, was a mentor and a teacher. He was a member of East Coast Gold Cup, Boy Scouts of America and was an avid outdoorsman and salt- and fresh-water fisherman.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at the property of East Coast Gold Cup Horseshoe Club, located three miles south of Landisburg, just off Route 233 on Lightner Road.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for the Wayne-O Memorial Fund made payable to the East Coast Gold Cup, 1156 Redwood Drive, Carlisle, PA 17013.

Arrangements are being handled by the Nickel Funeral Home, 3626 Shermans Valley Road, Loysville.
