William Woods Obituary
Bill was born on March 11, 1911, at Blain to the late John and Maud (Anderson) Woods. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Lee Woods, Paul Woods and Ralph Woods, and a sister, Pearl Palm.
He was a carpenter for Carpenter Union 214, was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Blain Fire Co. and Blain Ambulance Club.
He was the widower of Grace M. (Harris) Woods who died on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002.
Surviving are three children, Doris L. Meek, Carlisle; Dale A. Woods and wife Patty of Blain, and Carol A. Wentzel and husband Doug of Landisburg; a sister, Emmaline Young, Lewistown, and a granddaughter, Nikki L. Meek.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Nickel Funeral Home, 3626 Shermans Valley Road, Loysville, with the Rev. Robert R. Yankovitz officiating. Burial with military honors by New Bloomfield VFW Post 7463 and Newport American Legion Post 177 will be in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Loysville.
Viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
