Shorty was my biggest fan and supporter. He would call me his shining star and he supported me in everything I ever did. He might have yelled at me about some actions, but he never gave up on me. He literally saved my life when he kept me in east Texas. Words cannot express how heart broken I am without his daily phone calls, his jokes (that I've heard a million times), and just having him to love me and worry about me. I loved Shorty so much and I am so thankful to have ever had him in my life. It hurts so bad that he's gone, I'm aware he lived a good long life, but he wasn't done. He had so many plans, more than any man I've ever met! He couldn't ever just sit still. He wasn't done here on earth, and selfishly I wish I still had him here. We need him. I should know enough about loss to realize that you never really stop missing someone-you just learn to live around the huge gaping hole of their absence. He will never be forgotten and he will be missed so much.

Shorty and I clowning

Shorty raised me as his own son since I was three years old. He taught me what it meant to be a man and how to treat others. I'm forever in his debt and will always treasure the memories and our time together. Shorty was kind and generous and always made those around him laugh, mostly at his expense. But that was the type of man he was and there will always be a void in my heart from his passing. Shorty, you are missed more than you'll ever know. Till we meet again on the other side.

Your loving son,

Jayson
