Murphy Allen Obituary
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, 1309 W. Tansill St., with the Rev. Michael E. Bingham officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park, Carlsbad, N.M. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Murphy Lynn Allen was born Aug. 27, 1949, in Perryton, Texas, to Delbert H. and Ida Mae (McLeod) Allen. He will be missed by many of his furry friends, especially Tinker. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Renee Allen of Carlsbad, N.M.; one brother, Les Dial and wife, Lynda of South Carolina; daughter, Melinda Walker and husband, Jerry of Texas; step-children: Carrie Singley and Jason Jinright of Mississippi; three grandchildren: Eric, Makaela and Madison Walker; and two step-grandchildren: Kennendy and Cameron Jinright.
Pallbearers will be Dan McKeever, Mac Taylor, Joe Hay, Mike Schnell, Eric Prewitt and Richard Archuleta. Honorary pallbearers are Tom Oberhauser, Mike Biersdorfer and Eric Rios. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.

This is such a sad time for all who knew Murphy during his lifetime. Please know that he had many caring friends in Spearman, Texas as I witnessed their heartfelt concern at the news of his passing.

My condolences to Murphy's family. I spent many an afternoon after school with him at his parent's little grocery store in Spearman when we were young. I was working in Gruver at my dad's service station the summer Murphy worked for the highway department and he was bitten by a rattlesnake. His hand swole up like a balloon and if I remember right, he was allergic to the anti-venom medicine. I lost contact with Murphy after that summer. Again, I am sorry for your loss.
