Just looked up Phil today on Google. Sorry to hear he passed.
I was a friend of his in Las Cruces in the early 70's. Got married in '74 and moved away a few years later. Lost touch with him as life got in my way.
Didn't have many friends, but I remember Phil was a good guy.
Wish I had got in touch with him so I could have told him.
Don't know any of his family, but if anyone wants to talk please call, thanks.
Sincerely,
Barney Stern

My condolences to your family. I have great (and funny) memories of Coach teaching us to two-step for indoor PE at University Hills Elementary. I realized later was such a good life skill. Much love to you all.

I was a student at University Hills 1978-1986 and I have very fond memories of Coach. In fact, many of us still speak of him and the lessons we learned through his dance lessons on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Barn dances in the cafeteria are some of my favorite memories. Rest in peace, Coach. You had an amazing impact on so many of us.
