Brenda Hoernschmeyer Obituary

Brenda Hoernschemeyer, beloved wife, mother, sister and friend to many, went to be with the Lord Nov. 22, 2025.

Born July 19, 1965, in Sargent, Neb., Brenda lived in several cities throughout her life, making countless friends and touching the lives of many along the way before ultimately settling in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Brenda lived her life with strength, compassion and tenacity. She considered her greatest achievement to be her daughter, whom she loved beyond measure.

Anyone who had the privilege of meeting Brenda would say it took only one conversation to call her a dear friend.

She will be forever remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness, warmth, sense of humor, incredible laugh and unwavering faith, reflected in her "Faith over Fear" mantra, that inspired so many.

Brenda is survived by her husband Herman Hoernschemeyer; daughter, Sarah (David) Dickman; and siblings Jack (Kathy) Fenske, Sharon (the late Gary) Church, Dean (Kathy) Fenske, Mark (Marilyn) Fenske and Greg (Carol) Fenske.

She was also a cherished aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews who adored her.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents A.J. and Arlene Fenske.

Services will be Thursday, Dec. 4, at Withamsville Church of Christ, 846 Ohio Pike, Cincinnati, Ohio. Visitation begins at 1 p.m., followed by a service at 2 p.m. and a celebration of life reception. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering and celebrating Brenda.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP), whose donors gifted Brenda precious additional years of life.

Those who are eligible are encouraged to join the registry online at https://my.nmdp.org.
