Duane W. Beck

1932 - 2025

Duane W. Beck, 93, of Oconto, Neb., passed away at home Nov. 10, 2025.

Duane was born Oct. 26, 1932, on the Stuckey Ranch near Oconto to Donald and Mary Loretta (Bolliger) Beck. On March 17, 1951, Duane was united in marriage to Donna Jean Hill. To this union were born three children - Gerald, Patricia and Cody.

Duane spent several years working on cattle ranches and breaking horses.  In 1965, Duane and Donna purchased their own farm where they raised cattle. But Duane's real love was riding horses, until his health no longer allowed it.

Duane is survived by son Cody Beck of Oconto; daughter Patricia Pennington of Blue Springs, Mo.; daughter in law Cheryn Beck of Pauls Valley, Okla.; Four grandchildren Pam (Chris) of Missouri, Travis (Jessica) of Oklahoma, Christie (Chris) of Colorado and Chaunci (Erika) of Louisiana; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother Jim (Roberta) Beck of Nebraska; and several nieces, nephews and numerous longtime friends who were thought of as family.

He was preceded in death by his wife Donna; son Gerald; parents Don and Loretta; three sisters Elaine, Kay and Gay; and and son-in-law Dean.

A memorial service will be Nov. 17 at 10:30 AM at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow with burial with Military Honors following at the Broken Bow Cemetery. Memorials are planned to the Central Plains Home Health & Hospice of Cozad, Oconto Rescue Unit or to the family for later designation.

Visitation is Sunday, Nov. 16, 1-6:30 p.m., the family greeting 5-6:30 p.mat Govier Brothers Mortuary.
