Norma Joy Marsh

1944 - 2022

Norma Joy (Nelson) Marsh, 77, passed away July 25, 2022 at home in Sun Lakes, Ariz.

Norma was born Sept. 12, 1944 to Walter and Grace Nelson of Comstock. She graduated from Comstock High School in 1962 and received her Bachelors and Masters in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska.

Norma enjoyed a career of teaching in Lincoln Public Schools for 32 years, 30 of which were at Meadow Lane Elementary School where she cherished life-long friendships.

Norma married John Marsh on June 10, 1967 and they were fortunate to share 55 years of marriage together. They lived in Lincoln until they both retired in June, 1998. After retirement, they moved to Sun Lakes, Ariz. where they made many new fiends and enjoyed the wonderful activities available in that retirement community.

Through her retirement years, Norma loved being involved with many groups in Sun Lakes, some of which were the Lady Putters, Sun Lakes Garden Club, Women's Connection, the Methodist Church, Neighbors Who Care, the Sun Lakes Nebraska Cornhuskers, the Ironwood and Oakwood Lady Niners Golf Leagues. She loved Tea Parties and attending Tea Tasting classes.

Norma and John also participated many years in the Sun Lakes Ballroom Dance Club. They also belong to several Corvette Clubs and enjoyed many activities and trips with their Corvette friends. A favorite activity was her month Corvette Chicks' Luncheon.

Norma was proceeded in death by her parent. Survivors are her husband John of Sun Lakes, Ariz; brother Alvin Nelson of Comstock; sister and brother-in-law Joe and Neva Mattox of Broken Bow; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and many wonderful friends.

There will be a private graveside service at a later date at Douglas Grover Cemetery near Comstock.
