Kay was deeply cherished by her family, friends, our dogs and coworkers, and her infectious spirit allowed her to form new connections wherever she went. Her remarkable strength and resilience shone brightly, inspiring those around her. Throughout her career, Kay demonstrated dedication and excellence, from her early days at the telephone company to her eventual retirement as executive secretary from the Division of Mineral Resources. Her love and support played a vital role in raising her family, and her fun-loving, comical nature made her a constant source of joy. Her radiant smile and laughter had a profound impact, filling those around her with warmth and love. Her love for good food and the joy she derived from sharing meals with us are memories we will forever treasure. Miss Kay enjoyed a good meal. Her legacy is a treasure box of fond memories, and her presence will forever be felt. She was the best granny and great granny. Our sweet and feisty Granny KK was a beacon of light in our life, teaching us the true meaning of strength and resilience. You were a warrior. Thank you for showering us all with unconditional love.
The family would like to thank the entire nursing staff and teams at Martha Jefferson Hospital and the University of Virginia Hospital that gave "Miss" Kay such tireless and compassionate care as she fought here on earth. And we would be remiss if we didn't extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and team at the Laurels of Charlottesville who cared for Kay several times the past 2 years and who cheered her on and treated her like a queen.
Family night will be held from 6:00pm – 8:00pm, Friday, June 20, 2025, at Hill & Wood Funeral Home, 201 North 1st Street,

"Ain't no mountain high enough, Ain't no valley low enough, Ain't no river wide enough, to keep me from getting to you" (Sung by Michael McDonald and danced to all the time by Kay).
We love her and will miss her endlessly.
