Rebecca Crusse Obituary

Rebecca "Beckie" Lynn Crusse departed this life unexpectedly on May 7, 2025. She was a cherished mother, daughter, sister, teacher, and friend who brought infectious joy to all who knew her. She was born June 29, 1972 in Charlottesville, Va. She is survived by her daughter and light of her life, Raylynn Jane Crusse-Williams; life partner, Carnell Williams and beloved Williams family; mother, Nancy Crusse Gough (Colin Stahlhut); brother, Patrick Crusse (Kendall) and nephews, Barrett and Spencer Crusse. She is predeceased by her father, Robert Lewis Crusse. Beckie graduated from Western Albemarle High School and James Madison University with a bachelor's degree in education. Beckie started her teaching career at Walker Upper Elementary School in Charlottesville. Beckie exemplified the true heart of a teacher through the nurturing love she instilled in "her kids" during her 30 years of teaching at Walker. She valued, appreciated, supported, and encouraged success in every student. Beckie had the most joyful smile, warm embrace, sense of humor and unwavering loyalty to her friends and family. She was a talented crafter and photographer. Her greatest joy was as a mother to Raylynn, embracing every age and stage. Her enthusiastic cheers from the stands of the softball field were unparalleled. Beckie's impact on us will always be remembered. A Celebration of Life will be held at City Church, 1010 East Rio Road, Charlottesville, VA 22901 on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. with reception to follow. Condolences may be shared on the tribute wall.

Beckie and I went to Western Albemarle High School together. She encouraged me to try out for the Varsity basketball team as a freshman. My heart is broken.
