Charles Tribble Obituary

Charles Copper Tribble, 88, Cynthiana, Ky., died Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at University of Kentucky Medical Center.
He was born in Hustburg, Tenn., Aug. 4, 1925, to the late Clayton and Mary Patterson Tribble.
He was a retired educator for the Bullitt, Bourbon and Harrison County School systems. He was a member of Indian Creek Christian Church, a faithful servant to his community, serving on the Soil Conservation Board, Harrison County Water Association Board, and the Harrison County Fair Board. His many memberships include, Cynthiana Rotary Club, Frankfort Post VFW #4075, Farm Bureau, Salvation Army, helping many during the 1997 flood, Beef Cattle Association, Bluegrass Area Development and Harrison County Retired Teachers. In his years of teaching, he was an encouragement to all of his students.
He was a devoted family man and was compassionate about his beliefs. He was an Honorably Discharged Navy veteran of World War II and was still active in helping veterans get benefits they deserved. Each year he helped all year in the planning of the Veterans Day Program at Battle Grove Cemetery.
His wife Ernestine Steffe Tribble preceded him in death in 2006.
Survivors include: one daughter, Teryl Tribble, Harrison County, Ky.; one sister, Jean Tribble Denton, Alabama; two brothers, William (Jo) Tribble, Trenton, Ky. and Robert (Amy) Tribble, Adams, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Beverly Steffe, Harrison County; and his best buddy, Floppy.
Services will be Thursday, Sept. 19 at 11 a.m. at Indian Creek Christian Church, with burial in Battle Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Charles Tribble Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 728, c/o Charles Garnett, Cynthiana, KY 41031, MCTC Licking Valley Campus Foundation, 319 Webster Ave., Cynthiana, KY, Harrison County Educational Foundation, P.O. Box 243, Cynthiana, KY, Harrison County Salvation Army, P.O. Box 295, Cynthiana, KY or one could volunteer to help in the community in his memory.
Pallbearers are Jerry Jenkins, David Bishop, John Rawlings, Richard Rawlings, Donnie Crump, Roy Keith Rogers, Gary Carter and Eddie Coppage.
Honorary pallbearers are Wes Newkirk, Dr. George Tanner, Kim Brooks, Arnold Campbell, Gina Owsley, Chuck Duffy, Jim Snodgrass, Jimmy Drake and Ed Herrington.

On behalf of the many friends and fellow Veterans who knew Charlie as a fellow member of the Bluegrass Military Affairs Coalition (BMAC), please accept our deepest sympathy. He was supportive of the BMAC KY Wounded Warriors Program that provides benefits to military members and Veterans of Afghanistan and Iraq wars, following 9/11/2001. We will miss his enthusiasm and wise counsel.
