Edward Lang Cummins, 80
Edward Lang Cummins, 80, of Lexington, Ky., and Port Orange, Fla., passed away Monday, April 18, 2022, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
He was born April 26, 1941, in Berry, Ky., to the late James Lang and Norma Louise Gillespie Cummins. Edward was the Salutatorian of the 1959 class of Harrison County High School, he attended the University of Kentucky College of Engineering and was a member of the UK Marching 100's Collegiate Band.
He was the owner and operator of Cummins Engineering and Surveying Company and was later an employee of the Kentucky State Transportation Cabinet. He retired to Port Orange, Fla., where he enjoyed sending sunrise photos to several local Florida TV stations for their daily weather reports.
He is survived by his children, Marsha Mae Cummins and Steven Wayne (Tabitha) Cummins; and his grandchildren, Andrew Lang Cummins, Aaron Wayne Cummins, Rachel Lynn, and Christopher Allen (Chelsie) Boston.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Gail Cummins Hammond and his niece Katie Leandra Hammond.
Services were private at Kerr Brothers 3421 Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, KY 40513.
