ARVILL GREEN Obituary
Arvill was born on March 25, 1934 in Cardwell, Mo., to the late Edgar and Nannie Mae (Holland) Green. Arvill moved to Illinois in 1954 and worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company in Joliet and Aurora for the next 37 years.
He married Shirley Ann McClellan on Nov. 24, 1955. Arvill was an active member of the First Church of God where he was involved in many Bible study groups and the Golden Hearts.
He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for the past 12 years. Arvill and his wife, Shirley, were foster parents to 18 children.
Arvill is survived by his children, Pamela Marie (Nick) Terlap of Gurnee, Gerald Scott (Nancy) Green of Houston, Texas, Jane Elizabeth Green-Cowlishaw of Lockport, Jennifer Ann (Gordon) Russell of Somonauk, and Joel Charles Green of North Aurora; grandchildren, Nicole and Jeremy Terlap, Nolan (Stephanie), Ben, Phillip and Belinda Green, Christopher (Dohnya), Jonathon, Matthew and David Green and Zachary, Maxwell, Alexandria and Rachel Green-Cowlishaw; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Cooper and Delaney; sister, Maxine (Tom) Coyle; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Arvill was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; son, Randall Wayne Green; son-in-law, John Miller Cowlishaw; and brothers, Stanley and Virgil Green.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora, IL 60506. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 7, 2012 at First Church of God, 1460 W. Indian Trail, Aurora, 60506, with the Rev. Andy Christianson officiating. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Arvill's memory may be made to the First Church of God.

It was my pleasure to work with Arvill at Caterpillar for many,many years. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. He was always there when I needed a friend.

I was only able to meet Arvil once, when I went with a friend of his to The Tillers to visit. He was a real blessing to me at that time, even though he was not feeling well at all, and full of the Lord's grace. I feel happy to know him through my friend's good memories. Praying for your family and all those who knew him well and loved him. A great man of God! I have no doubt He is at peace now, and enjoying time with His Saviour.
