Carol Gates of DeKalb passed away on June 10, 2021 at DeKalb County Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born Hinckley, the daughter of Bert Rissman and Bernice Olson.
Carol was a longtime volunteer for the Salvation Army and former owners of BC Newsstand in Geneva.
She is survived by her grandchildren Lacey (Matthew) Ragsdale and Brooke (Michael) Flanagan; great-grandchildren Lincoln Ragsdale, Tommy and Kat Flanagan; son-in-law Jerry Lundgren; sister-in-law Phyllis Rippi, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband's Bernard Richardson and William Gates; children Debra Lundgren and Jaye Richardson; sister Marlene (Bob) Thorp of Hinckley.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 11:30am at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Salvation Army, addressed to the Gates Family in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115.

What a Great Lady Carol was. I Enjoyed her weekly hair do visits with her. Great to visit again with her. Lacy she adored you and your family so so much!!! Sorry for your loss.
