Dan Carson, age 89, of Maple Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, at Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb, Illinois.
Born in Black Rock, Arkansas on June 27, 1935, and relocating with his family to Maple Park as a teenager, Dan lived a long and fulfilling life grounded in hard work, deep values, and unwavering dedication to his family.
Dan's final moments were spent in the loving company of his beloved wife, Orva, and other family. Dan shared a lifetime of partnership. with Orva, who he married in 1957, nurturing children, grandchildren and great grandchildren over their 67 year marriage.
Dan founded DanD Industries in 1960, and additional businesses BarCar Manufacturing, Elburn Self-Storage and Carson Farms, all successfully operating to this day.
Dan is survived by his wife, Orva, his children, Danny Carson (Anne), Robin Carson and Julie Reihsen (Gerry), grandchildren Sam Carson, Emily Schilling (Drew), Sarah Peterson (Pete), Gerald Reihsen (Morgan), Carson Reihsen (Angie), Alec Reihsen, Lauren Carson and Brett Carson, and great grandchildren Genevieve, John, Elizabeth and Francis Schilling, Wyatt and Sadie Peterson and Jack, Allie and Grace Reihsen. He is also survived by sister, Sue Ackley (Bob), sister-in-law Kay Carson and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Nellie, siblings Gloria, Bonnie, Joan and James, and daughter-in-law Amy Carson.
Family and friends will gather to honor, remember and celebrate a life well-lived with a visitation at Anderson Funeral Home, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb Illinois on Friday, May 16, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will also be held at Anderson Funeral Home at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 17, with Ronald Torres officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Park's Gardner Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Carson Family in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115.
