Eleanor A. Williams 100, of DeKalb, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022, at Aperion Care in DeKalb. She was born September 7, 1921, in Kirkland, IL and was the daughter of Manna and Marion (Johnson) Plucker
Eleanor graduated from Pingree Grove High School in 1939. She worked at the Elgin Watch Factory during WWII. Along with being a loving homemaker she worked at Farm & Fleet for 20 years before retiring in 1984. After her retirement Eleanor and her sister Ruth were some of the first volunteers at The Country Store in DeKalb.
Eleanor married Herbert L. Williams on November 17, 1945, in Elgin, IL. He preceded her in death on December 13, 1983. She lived most of her life in DeKalb, moving here after spending seven years in Moline, IL with her daughter. Eleanor was a member of First United Methodist Church in DeKalb.
Survivors include sons; Michael (Ann) Williams of DeKalb, and James (Allison) Williams of Unionville, VA; daughter; Mary Murphy of Moline, IL. Grandchildren; Donnie Murphy, Grant Williams, and Lauren Williams. Great grandchildren; Brittany (Cody) Robertson, Hunter Murphy, Jacob Winokur, and Paige Winokur. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Herbert, sisters; Shirley Shedd, Genevieve Braun, and Ruth Lundgren. Brothers; Gordon and Wesley. Granddaughter; Kelly Murphy and beloved son-in-law Don Murphy.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at 11:00am at Finch Funeral Home in DeKalb with Pastor Jonathan Crail officiating. Burial will be immediately following the service at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at 10:00am until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Promedica Heartland Hospice promedicahospice.org. The family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at Aperion Care and Promedica Hospice for all the wonderful care they gave her. Arrangements were entrusted to Finch Funeral Home 310 Oak St. DeKalb, IL 60115 815-758-3841.

Simply one of the kindest most genuine people ever. Like Grandma, she just had the most positive attitude about everything and always a smile on her face which was contagious with her around.
