Eric I cannot believe it has been 10 years. I think of you daily and our hikes, trail runs, international travel and of course cooking together. I loved our Fridays. when you would text me and ask what wine or beer you should pair with Friday dinner and then I loved that we would cook together even though in separate places. Such good memories. Love you and always will.

Eric, I'm at White Oak today. No one is here. "Flexiscam" lol is four days a week now. I can picture you so clearly in my mind and I still pause walking by your old office.

I loved Eric's wit and humor and he made me laugh on daily basis. He made mom laugh as well even though she barely spoke any English, but Eric knew how to get his humor across. I miss his daily 1 line emails that I would get daily and would just make me laugh out loud.
Eric you are dearly missed and will never be forgotten.

Dear Beda, Hokey, Sara, Amy, Karl & Elsa,

I was saddened to learn of your loss. How wonderful it would have been to have known Eric as an adult. I would have enjoyed learning all about the science that he mastered. Your family was always a blessing to be around and I looked forward to visits by the Andreasens! I can remember playing with Sara & Amy while trying to keep Karl & Eric from infringing on our fun. I wonder if Eric was one of the ones with a bucket during your visit to Esko when so many of us got the flu. I have prayed for your family often since learning the sad news.

In Christ's Love,

Dear Andreasen Family,
I am very sorry to hear the news of Eric's passing. Growing up on Laurel Lane, many times we would play with the same group of neighborhood kids; bike riding, jumping on trampolines, playing baseball, etc... I remember Eric as always kind, soft spoken at times, but funny as well and truly genuine.

Please know, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

August 2, 2014

I loved and have many memories of Eric. My most outstanding is when Eric just showed up at my door for a 3 day visit. Had such a good time catching up. And then we went for a bike ride...so relaxing until I feel into a bush...Eric thought that was quite funny and never let me forget it as we e-mailed some. I am deeply sorry for the family with this loss of a loving son and brother. You are all in my prayers lisa e.

To friends and family of Eric, my deepest condolences for the sudden loss. It seemed that our seven years together at the FDA just flashed by. We were colleagues and friends and enjoyed good times at work and after hours. His warmth, kindness, and love of Korean food will be forever remembered.

To all of Eric's family and friends,Like you I feel so sad from this loss because of how special Eric was and how much he touched the lives of those who knew him. While Eric was at OSU we were "lab neighbors" and looked forward to Eric stopping by our office to check out the day's chocolate selection and tell us a funny story or just to chat. Eric was such a bright, insightful, witty man who understood human nature far better than most. He will not be forgotten. Rest in peace my friend.

My condolences and deepest sympathies to Eric's family, co-workers and friends. Having started school a year ahead of Eric, I don't think I realized we are less than a month apart in age. I swam with Eric since we were 5 or 6, most of the time in the same lane, and we were always pushing each other to do better. He was such a great guy and admirable competitor when we were kids. The childhood friendship, plus the hours of practice and friendly competition we had with each other have had a profound influence on me. I hope you can find solace in knowing how many people Eric has touched and influenced. He was such an amazing person.

I am deeply saddened by the news of Eric's death and am so sorry for your unbelievable loss.
I very much enjoyed working with Eric while he was a postdoc at OSU and frequently reminisce about that special time and interaction. He offered a wonderful mixture of curiosity, intellect, kindness, generosity, and genuine interest in the people around him.
I will continue to hold these fond memories close to my heart.

I met Eric in 2008 at the Pharm/Tox Retreat. I was a new CDER Reviewer. It was my 2nd day. I remember Eric's scientific generosity during a coffee break at the 2008 Retreat and periodically over the years. I will always remember Eric's dry sense of humor. He was a quiet guy, serious about science, and hilarious if you listened carefully. I will miss him.

Dear Andreasen Family: Eric was like a brother to me and I loved him deeply. I will miss his humor, funny one line emails I would get from him that would always make me laugh out load, his calls that always started with "so I have a funny story", the photos of his Friday night home-cooked meals, but most most importantly I will miss Eric, the kind soul he was.
With my deepest sympathies to his entire family.
I love you Eric and always will.

Dear Andreasen family: Eric and I were colleagues at FDA, both belonging to the group of toxicology reviewers in the Division. Eric was a wonderful person and a reliable colleague and friend. He was one of the most personable scientists I have ever known and got along with everyone here at work. The prospect of not being able to hear his soft knock on my door anymore, to talk at length about shared work assignments, to drop by his office and bounce his rubberband ball on the floor, to laugh with him about funny moments in his life and tell him what to make for Friday night's dinner, has taken a great deal of joy out of my daily life and put quiet sadness in its place. I still find his untimely passing hard to believe and will miss him very dearly. My deepest sympathy goes out to all of you.

There is a gaping hole in our hearts. Eric was such a kind soul, compassionate and generous in his bond with those who were fortunate enough to work with him for the past 8 years at the FDA. He was family to us in the truest sense of family. My deepest condolences, Christine Nguyen

Dear Andreasen family,

I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Eric's passing. I have fond memories of growing up on Forsythe Lane and the wonderful Scandinavian family neighbors across the street - playing outside with my big sister and our good friend Elsa and trying to impress Elsa's big brothers, Karl and Eric, with our silly antics as they looked on with amusement. I remember Eric as a kind and sensitive person who watched over us kids, but also wasn't too old to crack a joke or join in the fun.

The Andreasen family's work in and positive impact on the DeKalb community has been tremendous. Eric clearly was shaped by and lived out these values in his lifetime. He will be extraordinarily missed.

My deepest condolences to Dr. & Mrs Andreasen, Elsa, Rob, Nick, Julia, and the entire Andreasen family.

I was extremely shocked and saddened when I received the news of Eric's sudden death.
My words will fall short of expressing my sorrow for your loss.

Eric and I worked together for 6 years at the FDA and he stopped by my office at least two or three times a week. Many times we discussed a particular work related issue and other times we just chatted about everyday events. Eric religiously made an effort to visit the offices of many of his other colleagues at the FDA. He stopped by their offices and simply wanted to say hello and ask how their day was going. As small of an effort that that may seem, it is something that many of us rarely do. Many at the FDA probably wish that they had thanked him more for those visits. His visits will be remembered and missed for quite some time.

Eric will also be remembered for how knowledgeable, kind, patient and pleasant he was and most specifically, his smile.

May the peace that comes from the memories and your love of Eric comfort you now and in the days ahead.

Eric was a brilliant scientist, but that wasn't my favorite part of knowing him. Eric always was looking at new points of view and he had an amazing shy half smile when he saw something he liked. Sometimes he would tell you and sometimes he wouldn't, but the smile I will always remember.
I have no words that can help the fact that this is too hard to bear for those closest to Eric. I am so sorry.

I am very saddened to hear of Eric's passing. We became colleagues and friends while in graduate school at the UW. Eric was the senior student in the lab when I joined and provided immense support while I was getting started. His knowledge, patience, and willingness to help were instrumental to my success and I'm thankful to have had a chance to know and work with him. He will be greatly missed.

July 29, 2014

Dear Andreasen Family, I am so sorry for your loss. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Eric often spoke so fondly and lovingly about his family and about the wonderful times he enjoyed during gatherings. His genuine interest in those he touched and friendly soul will be greatly missed. Eric will always remain a kind an warm spirit in our hearts and minds--a most rare and precious gift.
Sincerely,

To the Andreasen family:
I am so sorry to hear this news. Eric and I have been friends since kindergarten and we exchanged messages earlier this month. He was a loyal friend, a tremendously hard worker, honest and plain-spoken. He was also part of some of the funniest moments of our growing up in DeKalb. He was a solid, good-hearted person and I will miss him very much.
