EVERETT LOWERY Obituary

Everett E. "Geno" Lowery, 80, of Rockford, Ill., formerly of DeKalb, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at Alden Park Strathmoor in Rockford.
He was born Nov. 2, 1928, in DeKalb, the son of Everett and Loretta (Callahan) Lowery. He married Mary R. Watts in 1953 in Aurora.
Everett was employed at Nehring Electrical Works for 25 years and then at Northern Illinois University until retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; two sons, Robert (Shirley) Lowery of DeKalb and Patrick Lowery of Virginia; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a brother, Robert Lowery of DeKalb; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Virginia.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at Anderson Funeral Home, 2011 S. Fourth St. in DeKalb, with the Rev. Robert Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established for Everett E. Lowery in care of Anderson Funeral Home Ltd., P.O. Box 605, DeKalb, IL 60115. For information, call 815-756-1022.

Remember working with Gene at Lincoln Hall years ago. He was a really nice man, and fun, too. Sorry to hear of his passing. Condolences to the family.

Everett Lowery Senior was my uncle. My mother's name was Bessie Lowry and was Everett's (sr)sister. The Lowery name was originally spelled without the e. Everett's wife Loretta changed the spelling. The family was originally from Danville, Kentucky.
Everett Sr. siblings were Jim, Alvin,Bessie, Gertrude and Letty.

Sorry to hear of this passing away.
