I'm so sorry for your loss. What a beautiful person she was. She was my favorite teacher and have heard so many others say the same. Kind, funny, loving, strict, intelligent and genuine-just the epitome of the word "Teacher". As a 5th grader she introduced me to Where the Red Fern Grows and My Side of the Mountain. It started a love affair with books that never stopped. I've thought of her often over the years and was so thankful to have had her influence my life in such a wonderful way. Everyone needs a teacher like her in their life. I hope knowing what a difference she made in people's lives carries you through these sad days.

John, and family, your mom was my favorite all time teacher I remember the Mrs. Piggly wiggly stories she read in class. Her smile filled the world with kindness. May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

Our sons were both very fortunate to have Gerry in 5th grade at Kingston School. She was everyone´s favorite teacher! She expected every student to do their best, and she was strict with her class rules........but, she could also tease, and had a great sense of humor. I loved teaching with her..... she was never critical of the younger teachers, but shared her opinions and her years of experience by saying, "Hey, kiddo, have you ever tried this?" She was so much fun to be around, and will be greatly missed. Our family has been blessed to have known this truly beautiful lady! May she Rest In Peace.

Very sorry for your loss. She was a great lady and the best teacher I knew. She was a great help to me as a new teacher and so much fun to be with. When she started laughing you couldn’t help but laugh with her. She was a real treasure and helped many children to become successful adults.

Rob and John, my deepest sympathy to you and your families. My mom worked as her housekeeper+ for many years starting in the mid-60's. Rob and John became like brothers to me. She always sent cards and letters and even came to my wedding here in MN 30+ years ago. If I was back in Genoa I'd always drive down Stiles St. to see if her and Ken were home. Many wonderful memories of my Kindergarten & 5th grade teacher and all the years since. Last year I sent her a picture (circa 1964) of her reading to our Kindergarten class. She set a high bar for all teachers, as a teacher myself I can only hope to have a fraction of the influence she had on her students. She was beloved and will be missed. One of my favorite people ever.

I never had Mrs. Clucas as a teacher, but I feel like I did, because she had such a presence. Kind and sunny is how I remember her. It makes me said that a heart like hers is no longer in the world. Rob and John, I hope your memories will bring you comfort. Sending prayers of peace.

Dear Rob, John and family,
I was saddened to hear of your Mom's passing. I have many fond memories of her growing up in Genoa from Trinity Lutheran Church and then at Bob's Royal Blue. She always had a ready smile and was so personable. May God grant you peace, strength, and comfort as you mourn her passing. She made an impact on so many students throughout her career. So sorry for your loss.
