Mr. Mason was my first basketball coach at Hinckley (7th grade) and his first year of coaching. (65-66) A very caring and fun loving guy! RIP

Mr Mason was an excellent coach and mentor. He believed in me before I believed in myself; that goes for much more than the layups he finally taught me how to do in girl's basketball, the power of giving selfless service in Q.U.E.S.T, and that life can hit you down sometimes yet it's character that determines how fast you get back up. Your time on this Earth was a life well lived, Mr Mason, I am thankful we were able to share a small sliver of it together. My sincere condolences to the family.

My condolences to your family. Mr. Mason was my first male teacher in Hinckley back when I was 11 and in 6th grade, along with Mr. Peterson and I enjoyed both of them immensely! He taught us Biology and was the first teacher to acknowledge that I had some artistic talent. He made me feel like I counted and was important! He had John Rissman and I draw a big picture of the human eyeball! I'll never forget the confidence he gave me that year! May he rest in peace!
