I so loved being dorm mates in college with Karen. I cherish that time, those memories and our friendship at Bethany. Karen was such a joy to me and I will never forget the late night studying, PJ parties, donut and ice cream runs, laughter and antics. I pray for her family and friends - that God will envelope each of you in His peace and strength. ❤

I had the pleasure to meet Karen only once, but I have known her fine children, Karl and Kirsten through the wonderful musical experiences we have shared together. I know from knowing Karl and Kirsten that Karen was a loving mother who did a beautiful job in rearing her children. My heartfelt condolences go out to Karl, Kirsten, their father Raymond, and all of Karen's loved ones and friends. May the Lord be near to you in your sorrow.

May the Lord our father be with the family in time of mourning and time of gladness she is in no more pain and she is home celebrating. Walking with the saints telling stories. Hugging our creator. My heart and prayers go out to all. May God bless each of you. My brothers and sister love to all

I met Karen at college Jan of 1980. She organized my 18th (surprise) birthday party not knowing that was the only birthday party I had up to that date. Karen had a gift of reaching out to people with love and kindness; especially those she felt needed some extra attention. She made friends with whomever she came into contact with, and did everything she could to avoid or diffuse volatile situations. All who knew her knew She LOVED life, and the words "defeat" or "give up" were not in her vocabulary. She remained my friend through the good and bad times of those 38 years; even during the times that I didn't deserve her friendship. She was loyal, honest, encouraging, caring, and never once gave up on me. She faithfully prayed for me, and I have been tremendously impacted by this one person whom I call my eternal sister. Can't wait to see what Heavenly makeover the Lord has given you Karen! You were loved by so many people, but don't be concerned with our tears. You will never have to cry again or ever again be in pain as you are with your Lord now and forever, amen!

I was so saddened to hear of Karen's passing. I knew her ever since grade school (we both attended Southeast). I still have a souvenir that she gave me in grade school...it's a ceramic "donkey" pencil holder. My condolences to her family & friends.
