CORTLAND – Lana Lucile Marten, 70, of Cortland, Ill., died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford.
Born Feb. 23, 1942, in Loves Park, the daughter of Erwin R. and Arlene (Hartman) Dygert, she was employed at Northern Illinois University in the Financial Aid Office for more than 40 years. Lana was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, DeKalb, and was active in several organizations at the church and in the church choir. She was active in many aspects of Stage Coach Theater.
She is survived by two sons, Scott (Liz) Marten of Hoffman Estates and Chad Marten of DeKalb; five grandchildren, Madison, Peyton, Luca, Matteo and Marco; a brother, Norman (Linda) Dygert of Valparaiso, Ind.; and four nephews, Kerry, Joshua, Jeff and Brett.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 511 Russell Road, DeKalb, with the Rev. Ray Krueger officiating. Cremation is by Anderson Funeral Home Crematory. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, at Anderson Funeral Home, DeKalb.
