MARGARET WESTERBECK Obituary

ELGIN – Margaret Westerbeck, 82, of Elgin, Ill., passed away Sept. 16, 2012, at Rosewood Care Center, Elgin.
She was born May 6, 1930, in Fremont, Mich., the daughter of Elmer and Merle Freeman Miner.
She was a resident of Elgin for 56 years and retired from teaching at the Dundee campus of Summit School in 1981. Her hobbies were reading, listening to classical music and flower gardening.
Surviving is her husband of 62 years, William Westerbeck; daughter, Katherine (Robert) Evans of Homewood; grandchildren, Sarah (Michael) Mayo of Morton and John (Robin) Evans of Webb City, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Carys Mayo, Bryn Mayo, Bronwyn Mayo and Owen Evans; and a niece, Barbara (Moore) Bear.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Mildred (Thomas) Moore.
Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at Laird Family Funeral Home, Elgin, with the memorial service directly following at 2 p.m. A private burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, Sycamore.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family at this time. Margaret (Mugs) was a dear friend of mine during our teenage years. She was my best friend and thought of her often through the years and remembered all of the good times we had.
