To the family of Mike Walter: I am deeply saddened by the loss of Mike. He was a person who I always looked up to for his love of family, friendliness, quality teaching and research and mentoring. Whenever my wife Jan or I ran into Mike, his first words would be how are you doing and how is your son doing? Such a warm and caring person who I will miss very much.

David and I send our condolences and warmest greetings of love and friendship to the amazing Walter family. We feel very blessed to have had the privilege of living in Lansing with the Walter family as part of our every day life and the childhood of our daughter Gillian Ruth. Ami Walter was one of her closest and dearest friends and most certainly we felt part of our family. We loved this very special child and her extraordinary mother and father. The Walter family with Mike at the helm were true givers and contributed in every possible way for the well-being of the Lansing community. Their contributions were extraordinary and their example profound. We send our love to each and everyone of these very special people
