RAYMOND ROLF Obituary

Raymond Kenneth Rolf, 77, passed away Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010.

He was born April 6, 1933, to Minna and Wilhem Rolf in Waterman. He was the youngest, with a brother, Bill, and sisters Virginia and Evelyn. He met his wife, Eleanor, on a blind date while she attended Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. They lived in DeKalb until 1965, when they moved with their two children to San Diego, where they resided in Paradise Hills.

He worked as farmer and then as a pressman for Duplex in DeKalb. He continued as a pressman in San Diego for Vanier Graphic, later Business Forms Inc., until he retired.

Raymond passed away while battling Parkinson's, dementia and other conditions causing a decline in health. Thank you, Sharp Hospice, for all your care and assistance in his daughter's home at the end.

He is survived by his daughter, Dawn Rolf; son, Robert Rolf; three grandchildren, Brandon, Nicholas, and Chrystina Taylor; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He has touched so many lives and will be missed.

A chapel service and viewing will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Conrad Lemon Grove Mortuary, 7387 Broadway in Lemon Grove, Calif. A private interment service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 4470 Hilltop Drive in San Diego.
