Timothy Russell Gustafson, 75, of Sycamore died Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Pine Acres Care Center in DeKalb. He was born Sept 12, 1945 in Rockford, IL the son of Russell and Dorothy (Glomp) Gustafson. He married Cheryl Nelson on August 14, 1973 in Rockford. Tim worked as a carpenter all of his working life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and a member of Muskies Inc, Flatlander Chapter in Rockford. Tim also was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl of Sycamore; two children, Christopher Gustafson of Rockford, Elizabeth Eau Clarire of Loves Park; granddaughter, Abigail Selfonover; siblings, Tom (Rita) Gustafson of Sun City, AZ, Jim (Andrea) Gustafson of Rockford, Pete (Cindi) Gustafson of Belvidere; two nieces and six nephews; cousin, John Pfau of Rockford; long-time friend, Chuck Claybaugh.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mark Gustafson.
Celebration of life will be help in Phelps, Wisconsin.

I am so very sorry to learn of Tim's passing. You took loving and tender care of him for a very long time. I'm aware of the toll that can take on a caregiver... including the grieving that one goes through long before life's essence disappears. Bless you, and may your memories of the better times replace some of the more difficult ones, Sherry.

Tim was such a special guy! He was so fun to be around and always had a wonderful story to tell!! You always had a great time when you were visiting with Tim and Sherry! Love to all his family!

Tim and I met when we were in 2nd. grade.We became best friends. We staid buddies and had many good times fishing and hunting and just being friends. I will miss my best friend.
