Violet L. Becker, 93, of Genoa passed away early Friday morning Sept. 7, 2018 in her home.
She was born Nov. 14, 1924 in Randall, MN the daughter of John and Emilie (Petschke) Japp. Violet married Henry K. Becker on May 22, 1954 in Chicago. They resided on the Becker family farm in Genoa all their married life.
Mrs. Becker had worked at several factories in the Genoa area before becoming a caregiver for DeKalb Co. Family Services. She had been a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hampshire.
Surviving are three sons, Frederic (Carolyn), Les (Robin), and Russell; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Helen Becker; and brother, Richard (Shirley) Japp.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry on April 1, 2016; and sons, Darrell, and Michael.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, Sept. 13 at St. John Lutheran Church, 6821 Main St, Union with Pastor Caleb Schauer officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire and continue on Thursday at the church from 10:00 am to 11:00am.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Violet Becker Memorial.
