William Harry 'Bill' Itter
Born: February 9, 1951 in Chicago, Ill.
Died: July 23, 2024 in Chicago, Ill.
William Harry Itter, 73, of Sycamore, Ill., died Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Northwestern Medicine Memorial Hospital, Chicago.
Born Feb. 9, 1951, in Chicago, the son of Harry C. and Renee T. (DeSmith) Itter, William married Janet Mundall on May 28, 2005, in Sycamore. Bill was a member of Sycamore United Methodist Church, where he was an usher, served on the finance and communion committees, and was a member of the senior choir.
A veteran of the US Navy Reserves where he attained the rank of petty officer second-class while serving six years, Bill earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 1974 from the University of Illinois-Urbana and passed his state boards. He worked as a quality assurance director at Stewart-Warner Electronics. He later worked as an assistant produce manager for Jewel-Osco. Bill was a member of the Kishwaukee Amateur Radio Club, and enjoyed bowling and fishing. Bill was a good chef who enjoyed cooking and he had a playful sense of humor.
Bill is survived by his wife, Janet; sons, Karl (Jacki) Itter and their children Mackayla and Connor, and Paul Itter, all of Roselle, and Brendan Itter of Schaumburg; brother, Jeff (Debbie) Itter of Wauconda; sister-in-law, Cathy Itter of Lake Moor; Janet's daughters, Lisa and Lori, and granddaughter, Autumn Hope; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Renee; and brother, Richard.
Memorials can be made in his name to the Sycamore United Methodist Church Senior Choir.
Memorial Service will be held at 11 am Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Sycamore United Methodist Church, 160 Johnson Ave., Sycamore, with visitation from 10 am to 11 am Wednesday at the church. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Sycamore.
