Bonnie LaGesse Obituary

Bonnie LaGesse age 85 of Bourbonnais, IL, died on April 20, 2025. Funeral services to be held at All Saints Cemetery Chapel, 1839 IL-102, Bourbonnais, Illinois on Friday, May 2nd, 2025 at 1:00PM.

The family requests no flowers. Donations may be made to Uplifted Care Hospice, Kankakee Valley Animal Rescue in Momence.

Bonnie was born February 6, 1940 to Robert and Eloise Essep Devenouges. She married Vernon LaGesse on August 12,1961.

Bonnie graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing in 1961. She earned her B.S. in Health Care Administration from the college of St. Francis in Joliet in 1982. She worked at Shapiro Developmental as an RN and eventually Nursing Director.

In 1989, Bonnie and her husband moved to Phoenix, AZ where she worked as a Nursing Supervisor for the Arizona Department of Economic Security and Developmental Disabilities.

Bonnie was a very compassionate person who enjoyed life and loved her family and friends.

Bonnie is survived by her husband Vernon after 64 years of loving marriage (m. 1961), her three children, five grandchildren, 13 beautiful great grandchildren.

Vern LaGesse Jr. with daughter-in-law Charlene of Springfield, IL.

Joseph LaGesse, with daughter-in-law Amanda of Donavan, IL and their children; Destanee, Brandy and Joseph.

Diane LaGesse, with son-in-law Ben Howard of Bourbonnais, IL and her children Autumn Kulhawik and Jamie Webster.

Bonnie also survived but sister, Dawn Langlois with brother-in-law Greg Langlois, and her niece Amber Langlois of Manteno, IL. Her nephew, James Madewell of Phoenix, AZ, nephew, Robert Devenouges of North Carolina and her niece, Lisa Ribery of Tennessee.

Her faithful dog "Bandit" who stood by her side till the end.

She was preceded in death by her father Robert Devenouges, Mother Eloise Essep Burnam, brother Robert Devenouges and her sister Roberta Madewell.
