Brian E. Simpkins, 58, of Bradley, Illinois, passed away peacefully with his loved ones by his side on Saturday, October 25, 2025. He was born on January 15, 1967, in Benton, Illinois, the son of Wayne and Donna (Sims) Simpkins.
On July 17, 2009, in Kankakee, Brian married the love of his life, Dawn Simpkins, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to family. Brian cherished his wife deeply and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
A talented and hardworking man, Brian owned and operated All American Drywall, where he was known for his craftsmanship and strong work ethic. He enjoyed working with his hands and took pride in every project he completed. Outside of work, Brian had a passion for watching stock car races and bowling, hobbies that brought him joy and lifelong friendships. He was also a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Brian is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Simpkins of Bradley; his children, Brian W. Simpkins of Bradley and Rebekah (Natorian) Simpkins of Manteno; his step-children, Joshua (Janel) Johnson of Bourbonnais, Jessica (Brandon) Johnson of Bradley, and Ryan Johnson of Bradley; his brothers, Mark (Jeannine) Simpkins of Kankakee and Greg Simpkins of Whittington; his Aunt Debbie Sims of Bourbonnais, and his Aunt Caroline (Larry) Darr of Benton; and his beloved grandchildren, Rowan, Dawson, Kode, Charlotte, Brooklynn, Conor, and Nevaeh. He is also survived by friends and other family including close cousin and friend Jeff (Carrie) Robinson of Bourbonnais.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his uncle, Donald Sims.
Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Jensen Funeral Home, Kankakee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the wishes of the family. Cremation rites will be accorded.
