Carol Curwick Obituary

Carol Jean Curwick, 73, of Momence, passed away on October 8, 2025.

Carol was born on September 13, 1952. She was welcomed into her loving family by her father, Ernest Treece, and her mother, Mary (Girard) Treece. Along with her two sisters and one brother, she had a happy childhood. She graduated from Kankakee Community College and worked as a sergeant for the Kankakee County Corrections Department for 27 years. During this time, she met Ronald Curwick, the man she would end up marrying on June 2, 1990. When Carol retired, she and Ronald lived happily together until her passing.

Carol was fond of many different activities. She loved a good jigsaw puzzle, or adding pictures to her scrapbook collection. While either solving puzzles or expanding her scrapbook collection, she would listen to her old music albums. However, nothing made her smile more brightly than her trip to Alaska, where she ziplined across the wilderness.

Carol is survived by her longtime husband, Ronald Curwick; her son, Brian (Tia) Tellor; her two sisters, Linda (Tom) Cyrier and Debra Treece; her brother, Terry (Kathryn) Treece; her two grandchildren, Gavin (Sierra) Tellor, and Mason Tellor; and her three stepdaughters, Tami (Ross) Merica, Michelle (Kirby) Wells, and Melissa (Billy) Burks.

She was preceded in death by her parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded.
