Charles E. "Chuck" Wehrle, 89, of Bourbonnais, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Miller Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Chuck was born on January 19, 1936, in Clarion, IA, the son of Howell and Hattie (Hunter) Wehrle. Chuck married Nicolene Raimondo at St. Rose of Lima in Kankakee on June 25, 1960. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. Chuck worked as a machinist for many years at Bennett Industries and then at Crown, Cork & Seal until he retired. Chuck was a very skilled woodworker where he enjoyed creating custom furniture for his family and friends. He enjoyed square dancing, but most of all loved his family and enjoyed spending time and watching his children and grandchildren compete in different sports. Chuck was a longtime parishioner of Maternity BVM in Bourbonnais. Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Nicolene, his sons: Robert "Bob" (Margaret) Wehrle of Aroma Park, Patrick (Michelle) Wehrle of Bourbonnais, and Matthew (Rachel) Wehrle of Danforth, 8 grandchildren: Andrew, Valerie, and Ryan Wehrle, Miranda (Benjamin) Korhorn, Melissa (Matt) Adams, Amanda Conover, Heather Wood, and Jennifer Conover, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers Roger (Carol) Wehrle of Kankakee, Tony (Debbie) Wehrle of Kankakee, a sister-in-law Carol Wehrle of Chebanse, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Joan Wehrle, and 2 brothers Jim (Nell) Wehrle, and Doug Wehrle. The family will receive guests at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais on Thursday, November 20, from 4-7 pm. A funeral mass celebrated by Rev. Jason Nesbitt will be at Maternity BVM in Bourbonnais on Friday, November 21, at 10 am. Interment will follow the mass at All Saints Cemetery in Bourbonnais.
