Danny V. "DV" Brown

Danny V. "DV" Brown, age 77, of Kankakee, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Palos Hospital. He was born September 5, 1947 in Kankakee, the son of Roger & Lois (Kime) Brown. Danny married Linda Coffman on September 11, 1971 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kankakee.

Danny worked as a machinist at River Wood International for 30 years. He also worked at Ardex for 28 years. Danny was a member of the IA of M Union. He enjoyed being active, working, and riding his Harley. He loved being outdoors. Most of all, Danny loved spending time with his family.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served from 1966 to 1968 during the Vietnam conflict.

Danny was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Linda Brown of Kankakee; one son, Brenton (Stephanie) Brown of Thomasboro; one daughter, Dana Brown of Momence; five grandchildren, Ruby Rowe, Harvey Brown, Hudson Brown, Bennett Brown, and Emsley Brown; and three nieces.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Debbie Taylor.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025 at Schreffler Funeral Home in Kankakee.
