Darrick Beckman

Family and friends remember Darrick Beckman, whose spirit departed from us Sunday (Dec. 15, 2024), at the age of 43.

Darrick was a beacon of unwavering friendship and kindness, and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.

Darrick Jon Beckman, 43, of Sheldon, passed away suddenly, at his home, Dec. 15, 2024.

Surviving are his loving wife, Susie Beckman; and their children, Abigail Beckman, Megan Beckman and Sawyer Beckman.

Darrick was born Feb. 22, 1981, in Watseka, the son of Sonny and Penny (Sobkoviak) Beckman. Both of his parents survive, of Iroquois.

Also surviving are three siblings, Dustin (Shonna) Beckman, of Chebanse, Josh (Amber) Beckman, of Sheldon, and Brandi (Jeff) Hurley, of Danville; maternal grandmother, Mary Sobkoviak, of Watseka; paternal grandmother, Judy Ellis, of Watseka; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his paternal and maternal grandfathers.

Darrick loved his wife and children and enjoyed going on family outings and vacations. His three children were his pride and joy.

He worked for Morrison & Benoit Construction for 20 years as a laborer. He had the privilege of working with many local construction crews. Darrick was a hard worker and took pride in his work and was an excellent concrete finisher. Darrick also enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors.

Darrick was a kind-hearted man who would help anyone in need. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, also at the funeral home, with the Rev. Brent Zastrow officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery near Stockland.

Memorials may be directed to the family for his children's education.
