Donna was born on May 1, 1937 in Forgan, Oklahoma, to Vester (Dick) and Cleo Long.
She was employed early on as a switchboard operator in Kankakee, and was a homemaker to her husband and 4 boys.
Donna was married on March 17, 1956, in Kankakee, Illinois to Robert Giles.
She was a member of HEA in Kankakee. In addition, Donna was an avid reader, and enjoyed watching Virgin River on Netflix.
Donna will be lovingly remembered by her brother, Darrell (Michele) Long of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; her four sons, Bobby Giles of Benton, Missouri, Bruce (Anita Perrin) Giles of Salem, Wisconsin, Brian (Deborah) Giles of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, and Michael (Dolly) Giles of Pleasant Hill, Illinois; her six grandchildren, Jessica (Donny) Nibeck, Samantha (Liam Mueller) Giles, Caitlin (Tim Mudra) Giles, Audra Rascher, Rebecca (Sean) Moore, and Geoffrey Giles; and her great-granddaughter, Ripley Nibeck.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Vester and Cleo Long; her husband, Robert Giles; and her sister, Patricia Breymeyer.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home, located at 1480 West Court Street, Kankakee, Illinois 60901. A service will be held at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home immediately following visitation. Burial will follow at Limestone Cemetery on Ill-113, Kankakee IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
