Eric Roy Helgeson, 52, of Manteno, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at his home.
Eric was born on January 29, 1973, in Kankakee, the son of Gary and Elizabeth (Burton) Helgeson. On May 2, 1997, he married the love of his life, Beth Mayotte, at St. Joseph's Church in Bradley. Eric was a pipefitter for local 597 out of Chicago for 26 years. He enjoyed working out. Most of all, Eric cherished the time he spent with his wife, kids, and close friends.
Eric is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Beth; he was a wonderful father to his 2 sons, Matthew and Michael Helgeson; his father, Gary Helgeson; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law; Susan (Chris) Lindstrom, Michelle (Stuart) Gustafson, and Lisa (Tony) Lonero; many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Helgeson and his grandparents.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 3pm to 8pm at Brown-Jensen Funeral Home in Manteno.
Burial will be private.
Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.

Eric was a wonderful man. I haven't been able to see him much in recent days, but "back in the day" we had some great times.
I'm so sorry for the family and especially the boys. Eric's zest for life and adventure will propel them for decades to come.
