Kathy Dean Pangle, age 69 of Wheaton, formerly of Kankakee and Bourbonnais, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Central DuPage Hospital. She was born on August 18, 1956 in Kankakee, the daughter of Duane and Kathleen (Ryan) Dean. Kathy married Charles Pangle on May 5, 2001 in Cobden, IL. He preceded her in death on December 25, 2015.
Kathy was superintendent of the Kankakee River State Park and formerly the Regional Director of Driver Services at Illinois Secretary of State. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, cooking, and hosting parties for family and friends. Most of all, Kathy loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Kathy was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, Kankakee.
Surviving is one son, David Clark of Bourbonnais; two daughters, Sarah (Corinne) Berger-Clark of Glen Ellyn, IL, Laura (Kelly) Voigt of Inverness, IL; one sister, Jan (Bruce) Carmitchel of Lincoln, IL; three brothers, Bryan (Beth) Dean, Tom (Andrea) Dean, Doug (Amy) Dean; four grandchildren, George Berger-Clark (3 years old), Luke Berger-Clark (17 months old), Alice Voigt (23 months old), Asher Clark (2 months old); loving cousins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kathy is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie; one son, Jason Clark; her parents, Duane and Kathleen (Ryan) Dean; three uncles and aunts, Governor George and Lura Lynn Ryan, Thomas J. and Stella Ryan, Nancy and Bob Ferguson; special cousins, Jim Dean and Robbie Ferguson.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the 7:00 p.m. memorial service on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais. Kathy's brother, Bryan Dean will officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Duane Dean Behavioral Health Center, Kankakee.
