Mark E. Genson

Mark E. Genson, age 66, of Bradley, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.

He was born January 25, 1959 in Kankakee, the son of Jerome "Joby" & Norma (Kibbons) Genson. Mark married Theresa "Terri" Allyn on July 9, 1982 in Marquette, MI.

Mark was a magnificent man, an Air Force veteran, loving son, father, brother, papa, and friend. He loved life with every ounce of steam he had and would give the literal shirt off his back for just about anyone. His hands have fixed many broken things, gripped golf clubs, wrapped fishing lines, held grandbabies and prepared many meals to feed us all.

Mark was loved as your friendly hardware store man, and will be missed for his smile, zerberts, humor, and wisdom. Mark, as you get to that place no one knows about, and feel the wind in your hair, we pray you shed this old debris and run like the wind into Taylor's arms first and then all the rest. We know they've got a seat saved for you and a guitar for you to join them in the jam session. We will see you in the familiar places and speak your name with pride. We're sad to see you go but God did we love the ride.

Mark was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving as a security policeman.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Theresa Genson of Bradley; one son and two daughters-in-law, Aaron (Laura) Genson of Bradley, and Melissa Genson of Park Ridge; his mother, Norma Genson of Kankakee; one sister, Gina Beard (Lisa Bjork) of Kankakee; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Jon (Sheila) Genson of Lake Zurich and Barb Genson of Suffolk, VA; five grandchildren, Landon Genson, Jameson Genson, Nolan Genson, Aurora Genson, and Nellie Genson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.

Mark is preceded in death by his father; one son, Taylor Genson; and one brother, Michael Genson. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of the 4 p.m. memorial service on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. Rev.
