Raymond J. Domagalla Jr., 68, of Custer Park, passed away peacefully Dec. 30, 2024, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, following a short illness.
He was born Feb. 23, 1957, the son of Raymond and Viola (Reardanz) Domagalla. Raymond lived a life marked by dedication, creativity and an unwavering commitment to family and friends.
Raymond proudly served as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years, a role he carried out with diligence and care, before retiring.
Throughout his life, Raymond embraced hobbies that reflected his curious and creative nature. His inquisitive mind found joy in solving puzzles, riddles and games, where his unmatched intelligence shined through. A passionate tinkerer, he found endless fascination with computers and technology, always eager to learn. Raymond's love for music, especially classic rock, brought him joy. He had a large and carefully curated guitar and album collection which he enjoyed sharing with family and friends. He found freedom and adventure on two wheels, riding his motorcycle whenever he had the chance. Raymond also had a deep interest in firearms and enjoyed honing his skills and knowledge in that area. Raymond enjoyed all holidays, but his favorite holiday was Halloween. His friends will miss his masterful pumpkin carvings, vibrant parties, and elaborate decorations, which brought joy to all who shared his love for the spooky season. Above all, Raymond will be remembered as a kind and generous individual who selflessly put others before himself. He dedicated his life to caring for his beloved mother, Viola, and cherished the close relationships he had with his family.
Raymond joins his father, Raymond "Buck" Domagalla Sr. in Heaven.
Surviving are his devoted mother, Viola; his sister, Shirley; brother-in-law, Stanley; a loving legacy in his nieces and nephews, whom he loved as his own, Stacie (David), Steven (Jessica), Sarah (Ray), Kate (Ian), Elizabeth, Meghan, Jack, Annabella, Gianna, Ben and Will.
Raymond's warmth, humor, generosity (and signature Buffalo roll-up appetizers) will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever cherish the countless ways he enriched their lives.
