William "Bill" Klopp, 85, of Kankakee, Illinois, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on February 7, 2026, at Loyola University Medical Center. Born on September 9, 1940, in Kankakee, he was the son of Robert Klopp and June (Carter) Klopp.
Bill lived a full and hardworking life rooted in dedication to family, service, and community. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy before beginning a career with Conrail. His spirit later led him to own and operate Radiators Unlimited, a business he poured his heart into for many years. Most recently he worked for the Show Bus Company as a bus driver for a few years.
On March 2, 1973, Bill married the love of his life, Karen (Senesac) Klopp, in Kankakee, Illinois. Together they built a strong and loving family. Bill was also preceded in marriage by his first wife, Shirley (Pool) Klopp.
A man of faith, Bill was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kankakee. Outside of work and church, he found joy in the outdoors. Fishing and hunting were among his favorite pastimes, and he cherished the peaceful moments they brought him. He also had a special place in his heart for his dogs, especially raising Labrador Retrievers for many years, whose loyal companionship brought him comfort and happiness throughout his life.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Karen; his sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Taylor Klopp, Jason and Carrie Klopp, and Lloyd Klopp; his daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Larry Allie, Missy and Tracy Grimm, and Brenda Klopp. He was a proud grandfather to eleven grandchildren: Mark Mitchell (Kristin), Stephanie Benoit (John), Brian Powell, Allison Roman (David), Macy Connors (Ricky), Andrew Klopp, Kenzie Klopp, Jude Klopp, Jack Klopp, Zach Klopp, and Emma Klopp. He was also blessed with twelve great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Shirley, and his sister, Diana Waldo.
Those who knew Bill will remember his steady presence, his work ethic, and the love he held for his family. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
Memorial Service will be March 1, 2026, at Jensen Funeral Home in Kankakee, IL from 3pm to 7pm.
