Just today, I was told from my godson about Dr. DeLaurentis' passing. I am shocked. He was my doctor for many years. In 2008, I moved to Indiana and kept driving in to keep my appointments. Finally, I felt well enough thanks to his wonderful guidance and have my memories of what a great Doctor he was. He also helped my godson tremendously. He is missing you terribly. My sympathy to his family and others in his office.

Dr De Laurentis. You were much more than a doctor to me for over 11 years. I'm shocked and very saddened by your passing. I don't even think I'll find another doctor like you. I will always remember you. Thank you for your compassion and open mind.

I just learned of Frank's passing and all of us at the University of Chicago, where Frank taught geriatric psychiatry to our residents at one time, are saddened by the loss of a colleague and friend. This is a big loss to our psychiatric community. Our deepest condolences to the family.

I just learned of this great loss. Dr. DeLaurentis provided such compassionate care to my aunt as well as to my clients who were his patients.

I met Dr last year when I was assigned as his Pharmaceutical rep, My 1st time in his office was like seeing an old friend, He was so personable and looked me in my eyes as though my presence mattered. In this work, you dont get to experience this often. I just found out today when I stopped by to leave him samples, I left very saddened and wanted to ask God why? But then I realized, Heaven needed another Angel.

Dr. DeLaurentis treated my 24 year old disabled daughter who has severe cerebral palsy. He was patient and kind as she spoke with her communication device. He was always on time, which was extremely beneficial in easing my daughter's stress and anxiety about appointments. He listened to me as the mom and was always thoughtful, kind and encouraging. Dr. D found a medication regimen which was successful for my daughter and helped her maintain stable mental health. Having him as a health practitioner was a blessing to our entire family. Our prayers are with you, and I hope that you can trust that God will get you through this difficult time of grieving. Dr. D blessed many lives during his lifetime! May the love of family and friends bring you much comfort.

I was very sad to hear about Dr. DeLaurentis' passing, and I send condolences to his friends and family. I know that I am late in adding my memory, but as a client, I felt uncomfortable contributing to this page. However, I saw the other comments by his other clients so I wanted to add my own thoughts. I had been seeing my previous psychiatrist for 25 years, and when he told me he was retiring I was extremely apprehensive. But I was referred to Dr. DeLaurentis, and on my first visit I knew that he was a good doctor and that he really cared about his clients, and all my fears were laid to rest. Dr. DeLaurentis was my doctor for 2 years, and he really helped me within that time. He was a caring man, and I hope that his loved ones can take comfort in knowing how many people he helped along the way.

It is rare to find a practitioner who not only prescribes treatment, but really listens to his patients as they describe how they feel. Frank DeLaurentis possessed that quality, and that's what made him so special. He will be sorely missed. I extend my deepest sympathy to Dr. DeLaurentis' family.

I am a pharmaceutical rep in the Orland Park area and have been calling on Dr. Delaurentis and Dr. Bartuska for about a year and a half. In the short time that I have worked with Dr. D. I do believe I had formed a friendship with him. Anyone who is a rep understands that there are just some offices that you don't want to go to, and on the flip side there are some offices you can't wait to have lunch with. This is an office I LOVE calling on. That's just what Dr. D. was like. He welcomed us in and let us feel like part of the office. I have had several reps that were in the territory before me (some that I don't even know) reach out to me and ask that I communicate their prayers and well wishes to the family. It's remarkable for a doctor to leave that type of impression. He cast such a wide net.
Although I did not know him the way that others knew him, one thing was always evident to me, and that was how much his loved his family. He raved about his daughter all the time. We probably talked more about her than anything else (sorry to any managers reading this). It wasn't just the normal "I'm so proud of my daughter" conversation; It was "My daughter is so awesome. She loves the Beatles. What 16 year old girl do you know that loves the Beatles?! She loves New York, and I love going there with her. How many kids do you know with that type of interest?" He absolutely adored her, and I can see why, she sounds pretty awesome (I don't know any 16 year old girls that love the Beatles). As someone who lost their dad at a young age, I always think about the bond we would have had when I became a young adult. Now, as a 28 year old young woman, I hope it's not out of my bounds to assure you that that bond would have only gotten stronger. He was just a nice, fun person to everyone. I will miss him, and I know how sorely missed he will be by those closest to him. I hope you can find comfort in your memories and in the legacy he leaves behind in you.

Martina, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I am in total disbelief, I met Dr. D as his drug rep and we quickly discovered that we were neighbors in Frankfort. I was even more thrilled to find out that upon me moving that I had moved just across the backyard and our dogs would always play together. I am praying for your family and as you neighbor and friend me and my family will be here to help yours.

Thanks, Frank for unflinchingly taking patients as they were, and gently nudging them to better places. Or, if there was not so much a better place, circling our village around them to keep them going with company gentle and kind. Thank you for keeping sharp as a professional and allowing me the comfort of competence when I sent a patient your way. Thanks for that added tone of concern in your voice about patients when we consulted. Your care of our mutual patients has been wonderful. You have left a hole of collective sadness. I'm thinking every day about the grief of your family and colleagues in your office. My only comfort is that we were all better to have known you. With sadness, Connie Natvig, colleague

Dear Martina and Marisa, I am so very sorry for the loss of your wonderful father and husband. I can remember always seeing Frank with Marisa in mass when she was a little girl. Life can be so unfair. One by one, our family unravels. Even though I hadn't seen you much lately, I always looked forward to your amazing photo adventures and then talking about them when we were together. You were so talented and so smart. From the moment you were born, you were my only first cousin on the De side. Your Brookfield friends have been sharing a few memories. Say hello to your mom, gram and gramp and Michael and the rest of our family. I will really miss you. Like everyone else, I thought we had more time.
