John,
One unbelievable year has passed in time, but grief and mourning yet surround those who loved you as reality has not fully left its impact upon our hearts. In your own way you were larger than life, a strength, a steady calm reassuring presence. You were always there, always willing to help make a way for others. A bright unassuming light, you managed to find your way in this life leaving sustaining legacies.
Thank you for being the heaven sent brother who joined me on this lifes journey when you married my sister. Thank you for sharing and always present during the good and difficult moments. You assumed responsibility and bore burdens which were not really yours to bear. Thank you for your faithfulness and loving kindness.
John you are now reunited and surrounded by peace and the love of those who walked with you here and awaited you on February 22, 2017. You are held in loving remembrance of those you have left behind. Always in our hearts,
Your SIster-in-Law, Gwen

The Draft: The Heavenly Hosts Team
God, the Owner of the Heavenly Hosts Team gave the command to His General Manager, Jesus the Christ and His Coach, Holy Spirit to draft a new member who played with excellence while on the Team Earth. The Three in One agreed that They needed a Full Back-Full of Virtues and one who you could count on to have your Back. GM Jesus conferred with the Coach Holy Spirit about the character and attributes of a Full Back that would meet these specifications. On February 22, They found their man! John Michael Bullock was chosen on the "Elite Round!" While on Team Earth, John proved to be a Man of Virtues. As a husband, John lived his commitment and devotion as a husband to Carol. As a Father, John demonstrated stellar responsibility and excellence to John Michael II and Lia. As a Grandfather, John displayed agility and contagious happiness when being/playing with his beautiful Grands:John Michael III, Jade, Elle and Emory. As a Friend, John's undying loyalty was second to none. And as a businessman, John was relentless and reliable in operating the Wendy's Restaurants. Whenever there's a draft, one leaves teammates that he or she has developed close ties for the number of years when they played together. Leaving a college team where you played for the joy of the sport with the hope of going on to professional ranks and be compensated and joining new team members is better/sweet. As a newly draftee on the Heavenly Hosts Team, John leaves behind many faithful, loyal and loving teammates on Team Earth. For those of us who are saved by Jesus Christ, filled with Holy Spirit and trust in God, we have the assurance that when its our time to be drafted, we will be on John's Heavenly Host Team for all Eternity! If you are not sure you will be on the Heavenly Hosts Team with John when you take your last breath,I pray you will prepare for the Draft and received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. John is free at last, thank God All Mighty, John is free at last!He made the Heavenly Hosts Team! Amen!

To Carol and the Bullock family:
Greatness is measured by the imprint one leaves when one touches something. John's imprints are many, very deep, and everlasting. He was and will continue to be as dear to me as one would expect from a relationship similar to that of brothers. I, like others, will rely upon his imprints to sustain me when I think about not being able to see that warm smile or hear that calming voice.
Rest in peace my dear friend.

Shalom and Blessings to Carol and the Bullock Family. What a precious act of God's Divine Connection when He joins a young man and young woman together in the Covenant of Marriage. What's even more precious is that they honor the Covenant until death temporally separates them. What is most precious of all is because the couple accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and the Gift of the Holy Spirit, they will be reunited with the Heavenly Hosts worshipping and praising our Heavenly Father throughout Eternity! Such is the case with John and you. I didn't know until years later when John shared that I unknowingly was used by God to introduce him to you. Who would have ever thought that the two of you would be a model of True Love for over 40 years. Linda "Duchess" and I shall forever cherish the photo of John, you, Leroy Keyes, and us on stage at Loeb Theater post the "Black Purdue" premier! Someday we will be together again! "For our light and momentary issues are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal," 2 Corinthians 4:17,18. In the Agape of Jesus the Christ/Yeshua Mashiach, Eric "Duke" and Linda "Duchess"

Remembering John
"To quote Maya Angelo "1've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands: you need to be able to throw something back." And, that John did! John will always be remembered by all he touched through his kind acts of love; his contagious smile; his joy for living; his faith in God; his deep commitment to family; and loyalty to friends. Yes, we will miss John, but because he was "able to throw something back," our lives have been truly enriched. His spirit will live in us forever.
