Lillie Fields Obituary

Fields, Lillie M. Lillie was born to the union of Jessie and Rosie (Young) Fields in New Madrid, Missouri on March 22, 1940. After moving to Chicago Heights, Illinois in 1942, and then to Ford Heights in 1944, Lille attended and graduated from Cottage Grove School. She went on to graduate from Bloom High School in 1959. In 1959, after graduating high school, Lillie went to work at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago, IL. In 1960, she began working for St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights until 1992. She then went to work at South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, where she remained until 2002 when she retired after 42 years of being in the workforce. At the age of 13, Lillie joined Progressive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. O.W. Motley. Lillie loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with family. On April 10, 2013, Lillie heard her Lord say, "Well done my good and faithful servant," and she closed her eyes and took her rest. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Jessie and Rosie Fields; one sister, Dorothy J. Fields; and one brother, Robert Fields. Lillie leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Rodney (Sylinda) Bradford of Park Forest, IL; one sister, Pearl Goodwin of Park Forest, IL; one nephew, Andre' (Keshia) Goodwin of Orlando, FL; one niece, Nikita Fields of Chicago, IL; one grandson, Brandon Jones of Arkansas; one aunt, Willie M. Neal of Bloomington, IL; one God-daughter, Sheila Griffin of Dolton, IL; three great-nieces, Briana Mahome, Aries Robinson and Jazya Goodwin; two step granddaughters, Latoya Hood and Allinda Patterson; and a host of cousins and friends. Service arrangements are: Visitation, Thursday, April 18, 2013, 4-7 pm at McCullough Funeral Home, 1621 E. Lincoln Hwy, Ford Heights. Funeral service is: Friday, April 19, 2013, Wake 11 am, Funeral 12pm, at First Union MB Church, 1301 Woodlawn, Ford Heights. Call 708-758-2880 for more information.
