Patricia G. Formentini

Patricia G. Formentini (Cornick), age 89, passed away on Saturday June 4, 2022. She was preceded in death by Romeo Formentini Jr, her beloved husband of 60 years, and her parents Stella (Hreczuk) and William Cornick. She is survived by daughters Elizabeth (Kenneth Ranney) and Christina Formentini, who were at her side at the time of her passing, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, she was raised in Detroit Michigan where she graduated from Commerce High School with a focus on business education. Upon graduation she began work as a Statistical Clerk for the Department of the Army where she remained until the birth of her first daughter. She met Romeo at the Sitzmark Ski Club while in Michigan and after marriage they settled near his hometown in the South Suburbs of Chicago where she raised her family. She returned to the workplace when her daughters were in high school working for the City of Chicago Heights and as a Baker for Heinemann's Bakery. A devout Catholic with a great love of travel, she had the opportunity to travel the world with her husband and daughters, visiting many shrines and religious sites including Lourdes, Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Turkey. Also a lover of movies, she followed all the movie stars in her youth and always enjoyed a good murder mystery show on TV. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Patricia's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Lying in state at Our Lady of the Heights (St Agnes Church), 1501 Chicago Road, Chicago Heights on Saturday June 18, 2022 from 9:00 am until time of funeral mass 10:00 am. Burial private.
