Dear Colleen & Family,
We were so shocked and sorry to hear about Steve's passing. Just the previous Friday, Cindy, Ralph, Ken and I were in the Sister Lakes area and drove by the "Mansion" and we talked about the fun we had when you guys came up to Gravel Lake. We remember Steve's smiling face. May you hold onto all the good memories as a way to ease the pain during this very difficult time. You and the entire family are in our thoughts and prayers. May God send his very best angels to watch over you!!

Steve was a great father. His and Colleen's testment are two wonderful children and three incredible grandchildren. Colleen and Steve were high school sweethearts and it is rare to see such love endure and last. Colleen, Eric and Erin my love, thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Kate and Eric,

It is likely in weeks to come - just when you start feeling better and in control, you will get hit w/ a surge of sadness all over again. It is those times you need to call - w/out explanation and ask us to babysit, run an errand, make a call, whatever ~ and we will.

Our deepest sympathy at the passing of Steve. It is a shock to us all and he will be truly missed.
The last time we saw Steve was in Soldier Field on August 30, when Steve and more than 60 of his Mendel teammates celebrated their 40th anniversary of the 1968 City Championship. He was one proud and happy guy. That is how we will remember him.
