Daniel Derrick Obituary

Daniel Alma Derrick, 63, went to be with our Lord and Saviour on Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at home surrounded by family after a long hard courageous battle with COPD. He was born Jan. 20, 1952, to Max and Shirley Derrick, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City, in 1970.
In 1985, Dan moved to Farmington and met his very caring and loving wife, Donna. They were married on Feb. 14, 1986.
Dan had two sons from a previous marriage, Jeremy Scott and Joshua Chas. His brothers are Max and David and his sisters are Chris and Melissa of Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death and greeted at heaven's gate by his parents, Max and Shirley Derrick; and his loving in-laws, Robert and Irene Richey. Dan is survived by wife, Donna; daughter, Bree'Anna Lopez; sons, Jeremy and Joshua Derrick; grandchildren, Serenity Farson and Xavier Lopez; and his siblings, Max, David, Chris and Melissa; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Dan was employed with the Holiday Inn, which became America's Best Value Inn, and retired medically from XTO.
A special thanks to Yvonne, Basin Home Health and the entire medical team from hospice.
Services will be at 10 a.m Thursday, Dec. 17 at the First Assembly of God Church, 805 Saguaro Trail, at the corner of Piñon Hills and Dustin Ave. Interment will be at 2 p.m. in Greenlawn Cemetery, 1606 N. Dustin Ave. in Farmington.

Donna, it's been years since I have talked or seen either you or Danny but you have both been in my hear all of this time. It breaks my heart to hear of Danny's passing. You both made such a lovely couple. Danny had such an infectious laugh, and It makes me smile just thinking about it. Danny was a great friend and I know he will be missed. May God bless you and your family and keep you comforted.
