Isabel Garcia Obituary

Isabel Garcia was born Dec. 31, 1919, in Arboles, Colo., per baptismal records but later in life stated Alison, Colo. Isabel (Donie, Tia, Grandma, Mom) decided to be with her brothers, sisters and parents Jan. 30, 2014, while in the care of San Juan Regional Medical Hospital.
Isabel grew up in the Gobernador, with her parents, eight brother and sisters, and numerous relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Isabel Sandoval; brothers, Tinny and Victor Sandoval; sisters, Alice Svejcara, Jane Lucero and Leonore (Nora) Henly; and grandson, Patrick Lynch.
She is survived by son, Epifano (Larry) Garcia; son, Abel Garcia, and wife, Jennie; daughter, Ruperta (Bertie) Garcia and Cruz Garcia; brothers, David Sandoval and wife Trouty and Frank Sandoval and wife Virginia; sister, Sally Gonzales; and grandchildren, Chris Nichols and Cindy Hines, Ray Nichols and wife Juanita, Paul Nichols, Cruzan Dobbs, Carlos Garcia and Chrisanne, Michelle Koskovich and husband Bill, Amanda Garcia and Dale Harrison, Tom Lynch and wife Patti, Charles Lynch and Stephanie Stafford.
Isabel had 13 great-grand children, Nicole, Kristy, Brandon, Kristen, Alexis, Jamie, Zach, Misty, Sierra, Holly, Meadow, Beau and Jason, in addition to eight great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She also had honorary family members, Anna Terry, Tony Espinoza and daughters, Virginia Smith, Don Burns, Dalyne Faulkner, Liz Justis and countless others.
She knew and believed in the importance of the family which she demonstrated every day. She had an innate ability to make you feel loved and special when in her presence. There was not a child who entered her home that didn't feel like they had acquired a "new" grandma. Her door was always open, as was her heart.
The joy brought from spending time with her brothers and sisters radiated from her. Sneaking biscochitos to little brother, Tinny, and endless conversations with her siblings was always a privilege to see.
Todos somos familia.
Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 3, with a Mass to follow at Sacred Heart Church.
She will be buried in The Santo Nino Cemetery in Gobernador, with graveside services.
Isabel's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, 505-325-8688. Those who wish to express their condolences may do so at www.serenityandcompany.com.

Dear Family, all. I send my prayer and my love to all of you. Isabel is surely managing things in heaven, helping God get things done. I treasure all the memories I have of Isabel when I was a little girl and spent time with my Grandma. She was my "big sister" at that time. Through the years we kept in touch. She was always interested and cared. I too wanted to know about her growing family, unfortunately time takes its toll and in the last few years I have not travelled back to Farmington/Aztec
/Bloomfield and have not visited her. Prax and Andrea Lucero, my brother and sister join me in sending our love, prayer and condolences and assuring you that now you have a powerful intercessor in heaven. She surely is telling God what to do, and how to do it. Prayers and Condolences.
