Jonathan Joe, 66, of Shiprock, passed from this life Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, in Shiprock. He was born Aug. 1, 1950, in Shiprock to Amy and Charley Joe, Sr. Jonathan was taken from his family who loved him dearly. His ever present smile, and cheerful nature will be missed by all who knew him. Jonathan was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Charley John Joe and Lena Mae John. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as three siblings, Charley P. Joe, Charlie Joe, Jr. and Lula Jackson. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center, 10 Road 6523, off U.S. Highway 64 in Kirtland. Burial will follow the services at the Shiprock Community Cemetery in Shiprock. A luncheon reception will occur after the burial from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Shiprock Chapter House.
